When you're selling items on Instagram, you might not want to upload inventory before your sale – whether it's because you don't want to plan a table of items in advance, or because a customer requests something you didn't think about showing.

Now you can list and assign these claims instantly – without leaving Instagram – building the customer's invoice in realtime!

How to format an Instagram comment to create a claim

To create the item and assign the claim, comment on your own Live, Story, or DM thread:

@customerhandle Item title $price

Rules to follow

  • Order matters: Always put the customer's handle first, followed by the title, and the price

  • The price must have a $ sign: Without it, the app won't recognize the price, and won't create the claim

  • Only tag one customer at a time: If there are two handles, the app won't create the claim

  • You can put anything you like in the title, but it must be shorter than 80 characters. Here is an example of what 80 characters looks like in length:

    • This very long title is eighty characters long which is too long to be used in a Paloma live listing

  • You can put any other words or emojis before or after the claim

For example

If you want to assign @kellycollects a Vintage camera for $54:

✅ @kellycollects Vintage camera $54

✅ @kellycollects Vintage camera $54 please!

✅ 😍😍 @kellycollects Vintage camera $54!

❌ Vintage camera $54 @kellycollects

❌ $54 Vintage camer @kellycollects

❌ @kellycollects $54 Vintage camera
